About me

I manage the National Robotarium’s communications, PR, and marketing activities, including digital, web and social media content creation and management. I have 15+ years’ experience in higher education, working in a variety of communications, engagement, events and administration roles.

When not spinning a good (robotics) yarn, you’ll usually find me at a gig, in a charity shop or deeply engrossed in books and podcasts about old Hollywood.

My favourite thing about working at the National Robotarium is…

The friendliness, enthusiasm and energy of the team. They are truly passionate about advancing robotic technologies that can improve people’s lives and it’s an honour to get to share with the world the brilliant work they do.

About me

I am a driven, organised, and motivated senior facilities manager, chartered member of IWFM and RICS, with previous work experience in hard and soft FM, managing facilities, projects, services, operations, and personnel. I have been working in the industry in various roles for 15+ years and have expert knowledge of the various issues surrounding facilities. My previous experience includes x3 tours in Iraq and x1 in Afghanistan as a project administrator in built environment projects, assisting US DOD, KBR, and Flour Corp. in various roadworks, construction, infrastructure, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) centres, and Dining Facilities (Dfac) projects across various camps. In addition to that, having served as a retained firefighter for the London Fire Brigade, I have finalised my time in the LFB as incident commander after 10 years of service.

While working full time and gaining a number of qualifications, I managed to achieve my PGCert in Business Administration and Management with Sheffield Hallam University, School of Business, Technology, and Engineering. In 2023, I also graduated from Edinburgh Napier University School of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment in MSc Facilities Management with distinction, also being the university medal winner.

I like being part of the National Robotarium because…

I like being part of the NR because of the variety of projects and industries we work with. From a facilities perspective, this means that while ensuring the smooth delivery of facilities in the National Robotarium, I also need to deliver a facility or property that meets the requirements of the various projects regularly.

Providing a facility for various industries on various projects and seeing clients from oil, gas, education, healthcare, logistics, Finance, IT and more, come through the doors of our state-of-the-art property is exciting!
